Take in the breathtaking panoramic views from the landmark Wellington Monument, only 2.5 miles from Luggs. Sheppy’s Cider on the Taunton road has a rural life museum, orchard trails and a shop selling award winning ciders as well as a cafe. Coldharbour Woollen Mill at Uffculme hosts regular Steam Days which will fascinate children and adults alike.

Culmstock Beacon

The C15th Culmstock Beacon is an extraordinary local landmark and a favourite spot for picnics, dog walking or just setting the world to rights on a long walk with friends.

Bike Trails & Routes

Many visitors bring their bikes and there are plenty of routes to suit all energy levels along the quiet country lanes. Bikes are available for hire in the area (try www.easybikedays.com or www.abbotshoodcyclehire.co.uk) and VisitDevon.co.uk has some good route suggestions.

Anyone for tennis?

Three hard tennis courts are available for hire in Hemyock (2 miles) and fishing, shooting and golf are all offered locally. Equestrians are also well catered for, with the prebookable Blackdown Hills Cross Country Course and a number of riding stables. You can even bring your horse on holiday with a livery stable a few miles away at Higher Mackham.
